GROUP BOOKING FOR - 2012

1.YOUR PARTY will be greeted by a steward on arrival*.  Guided tours of the house are offered at no extra charge.   We prefer to split parties into groups of approximately 20 - 25 per tour with space between tours; this allows each group a really personal tour of the house.
Alternatively your group may prefer to view the house without a guide, this is easily arranged.  Knowledgeable stewards are in each room who will be pleased to help and answer questions. Allow extra time for the gardens, woodland walk to beach and cream tea. (Average visit 2½ - 3 hours incl. house, gardens, grounds & refreshments). * please state arrival time on booking.

2. PARKING Large flat area adjacent to the house; ample parking for coaches.

3. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Please state if you have any requirements. We can offer specialty guided tours inc The Parish Church (No additional cost for a Church tour but a donation to the Friends of the Church is acceptable).

4. DISABLED VISITORS will be able to view most of the main reception rooms, plus the mediaeval basement, museum and shop, tea room etc. Entry to the house is up some steps which is unsuitable for a ramp. Photo album provided to show the upper rooms which are not easily accessible for disabled persons. Disabled WC available by the Tea Rooms.

5. SCHOOL PARTIES These must be properly supervised as many items in the Abbey are easily breakable.

6. DOGS Welcome in the grounds on leads; Guide Dogs only in the house.

7. LIGHT LUNCHES AND CREAM TEAS in the Old Kitchens are provided by the ladies of St Nectan's Church, Stoke, with all profits going to the church. We would be very grateful if you could book in advance if possible. A menu can be supplied on request.

8. SPECIAL EVENTS 2011 Please see our calendar of special events which commence with SNOWDROP SUNDAYS ON 6TH AND 13TH FEBRUARY.

In order to make a full day out, combine HARTLAND ABBEY and its gardens and grounds with HARTLAND village with its wonderful pottery, furniture makers, artists and craft shops. St. NECTAN’S CHURCH, STOKE ('the Cathedral of North Devon') and HARTLAND QUAY, renowned for its spectacular cliff scenery and rocky beach, the scene of many shipwrecks, are within a mile. HARTLAND QUAY HOTEL, 1 mile, serves a good pub lunch in the cosy bar, the Wreckers Retreat. THE SHIPWRECK MUSEUM is well worth a visit too. There are many other attractions within easy reach; we would be delighted to help with suggestions. DOCTON MILL is only a few miles away and has a beautiful garden. World renowned CLOVELLY is only 5 miles away. HARTLAND ABBEY is easily accessible from M5 Junction 27 and is only 5 miles west of Clovelly, off the A39. BUDE and BIDEFORD are 15 miles away.
